Recovering SharePoint Content Databases from a Recovery Point

Applies to: SharePoint block-level backups, Application-Aware backups, and IntelliSnap backups.

After you create a recovery point, you can restore the SharePoint content databases to the same backup set where the recovery point was created.

When you restore from a recovery point, you save time because the snap mount is complete and the database is already attached. The destination database must be different from the source database.

Before You Begin

Create a recovery point.

Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > SharePoint Server > Databases.
Right click the subclient, and then click Browse and Restore.

The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.
Click View Content.
Select the SharePoint content database that you want to restore, and then click List Recovery Points.

The Recovery Points dialog box appears.
Click Browse for the recovery point that contains the data that you want to restore.

The Browse Database dialog box appears.
From the SharePoint Client list, select the computer that contains the database that you want to restore, and then click OK.
Select the content database that you want to restore, and then click Recover All Selected.
Click OK.
