Before proceeding to deployment, use the following checklists for the Hedvig Storage Cluster Nodes, the Hedvig Storage Proxies, and the Hedvig Deployment Server to confirm that each of these components is ready.
Hedvig Storage Cluster Node Checklist

CentOS 7.7 Minimal is installed on each storage cluster node machine. |

|
Hostnames (FQDNs) are assigned to all storage cluster nodes. |
|
|
Configured networks are accessible from the deployment server. |
|
|
If supported by the network, jumbo frames are enabled. |
Hedvig Storage Proxy Checklist
|
CentOS 7.7 Minimal is installed on each storage proxy machine. |
|
|
The cvm.ova has been deployed on the ESXi host. |
|
|
Hostnames (FQDNs) are assigned to all storage proxies. |
|
|
Configured networks are accessible from the deployment server. |
|
|
SSDs are attached for edge caching to the storage proxies, if applicable. |
|
|
A private network has been added to the ESXi host for the storage proxies. |
|
|
If supported by the network, jumbo frames are enabled. |
Hedvig Deployment Server Checklist
|
The deploy.ova has been deployed on the ESXi host. |
|
|
A hostname (FQDN) is assigned to the deployment server. |
|
|
If a cluster is not DNS available, all hostnames have been added to the /etc/hosts file. |
|
|
The Hedvig binaries (hedvig_extract.bin and rpm_extract.bin) and Ansible configuration file have been downloaded to the /home/admin/ directory. |
|
|
Both binaries have been extracted (with the extractor in the admin user role). |
