Configuring the Dell EMC Unity Storage Array Using Arrays Page

To perform IntelliSnap backups from the Commvault software, add the storage array to the CommServe database.

Before You Begin

  • Configure the client and proxy computers to have access to the array.

  • Under System, in the Summary of the System View of the Dell EMC Unisphere software, record the serial number of the storage array.

  • If you have more than one NAS server in the Dell EMC Unisphere software, then add one storage array entry for each NAS server.

Start the Configuration Wizard

  1. From the navigation pane, click Manage > Infrastructure.

    The Infrastructure page appears.

  2. Click Arrays.

  3. On the Arrays page, click Add.

    The General page of the Add Snap Array configuration wizard appears.

General

  1. From the Snap vendor list, select Dell EMC Unity.

  2. In the Array name box, enter a name for the array.

    • If you are configuring a SAN device or LUN, then enter the serial number of the management interface of the array.

    • If you are configuring the Network Share or NDMP IntelliSnap backup feature, then enter the name of the NAS server.

  3. In the Control host box, enter the IP address of the management interface of the array.

  4. In the Description box, enter the description for the array.

  5. For credentials, do one of the following:

    • To use the saved credentials, move the Use saved credentials toggle key to the right, and then select credentials from the Saved credentials list.

    • To add new credentials, enter the credentials in User name and Password boxes.

  6. Click Next.

    The Array Access Nodes page of the configuration wizard appears.

Array Access Nodes

Add an array access node if you want to use the secondary live snapshot for the backup copy operation or to add a MediaAgent to perform additional operations on the storage array.

  1. From the Available MediaAgents list, select one or more access nodes and then click OK.

    • To select all the available MediaAgents as access nodes, click SELECT ALL.
  2. To disable pruning, move the Pruning toggle button of the respective access node to the left.

  3. To rearrange the selected access nodes, drag them upwards or downwards as required.

  4. Click NEXT.

    The Snap Configurations page of the configuration wizard appears.

Snap Configurations

  1. Configure Snapshot Configuration Properties according to your needs.

  2. Click SUBMIT.
