Configuring the Dell EMC VNX / Celerra Storage Array

For IntelliSnap backups from Commvault software, add the Dell EMC VNX / Celerra storage array and its configuration information to the CommServe database.

Start the Configuration Wizard

  1. From the navigation pane, click Manage > Infrastructure.

    The Infrastructure page appears.

  2. Click Arrays.

  3. On the Arrays page, click Add.

    The General page of the Add Snap Array configuration wizard appears.

General

  1. From the Snap vendor list, select Dell EMC VNX / Celerra.

  2. In the Array name box, enter the name of the EMC data mover from which the NFS share that you want to protect is exported.

  3. In the Control host box, enter the name of the computer that controls all Celerra data movers.

  4. In the Description box, enter the description for the array.

  5. For credentials, do one of the following:

    Type the credentials of a user who has the following privileges to access the array:

    • Create and delete read-only snapshots and read-write snapshots

    • Perform NFS export operations

    • To use the saved credentials, move the Use saved credentials toggle key to the right, and then select credentials from the Saved credentials list.

    • To add new credentials, enter the credentials in User name and Password boxes.

  6. Click Next.

    The Array Access Nodes page of the configuration wizard appears.

Array Access Nodes

Add an array access node to perform additional operations on the storage array.

  1. From the Available MediaAgents list, select one or more access nodes and then click OK.

    • To select all the available MediaAgents as access nodes, click SELECT ALL.
  2. To disable pruning, move the Pruning toggle button of the respective access node to the left.

  3. To rearrange the selected access nodes, drag them upwards or downwards as required.

  4. Click NEXT.

    The Snap Configurations page of the configuration wizard appears.

Snap Configurations

  1. Configure Snapshot Configuration Properties according to your needs.

  2. Click SUBMIT.
