Storage Policy - Troubleshooting

Updated

Unable to delete a storage policy

Cause 1

A storage policy cannot be deleted if there are any data aging, restore, or auxiliary copy jobs running on the storage policy.

Solution

Ensure that no data aging, restore or auxiliary copy jobs are running for the storage policy during deletion.

Cause 2

If the storage policy that you wish to delete has a last DDB backup job of valid DDB and if DDB subclients are associated to this storage policy, then you will be prompted with the following message and the delete operation will be aborted.

DDB Backups are still associated with this Storage Policy. Deleting this Storage Policy would have resulted in inability to reconstruct the DDB

Solution

Before deleting a storage policy, make sure to associate all the DDB subclients to another storage policy and run the DDB backup job.
