Enabling Immutable Snapshot for HPE 3PAR StoreServ / Primera / HPE Alletra 9000 Series / HPE GreenLake for Block Storage Array

Enable immutable snapshots on the snapshot primary or vault/replica copy to prevent the accidental or intentional snapshot modification or deletion until a set retention time. Once you enable Immutable snapshot, you cannot disable it. This is an irreversible action.

Note

  • Creating an immutable snapshot with a snapshot primary or vault/replica copy will prevent the creation of normal snapshots with the same copy. All the dependent copies will only be able to create immutable snapshots.

  • Enabling immutable snapshot automatically enables compliance lock on the snapshot copy.
