Use the Custom Configuration to Create an Atlassian Jira App

Use this option if you prefer to manually configure authentication credentials for your Jira instance instead of using the express configuration.

Before You Begin

Procedure

  1. Select the The redirect URL for the OAuth app is set to check box.

  2. Select an existing credential or create a new credential (recommended):

    1. From the Credentials list, select existing credentials or create new credentials.

      1. Click the add button add/plus button - gray - no border.

        The Add credential dialog box appears.

      2. In Credential name, enter a descriptive name for the credentials.

      3. In Client ID, enter the Client ID for your Atlassian OAuth app.

      4. In Client secret, enter the Client secret for your Atlassian OAuth app.

      5. Optional: In Description, enter a description of the credentials.

      6. Click Save.

  3. Click Sign in with Jira.

    The Acquire the Jira app details screen appears, showing the authorization process.

  4. When prompted with Waiting on the Jira app authorization, you will be redirected to the Atlassian login page to authorize the OAuth app on your Atlassian account.

    If you are not redirected automatically, click the provided link.

  5. On the Atlassian authorization page:

    a. To select from available sites, from the Use app on list, select your site from the dropdown.

    b. Review the permissions requested by the Commvault app.

    c. Click Accept to authorize the application.

  6. After successful authorization, you will be redirected back to the configuration wizard.

    The system will display Jira app details retrieved successfully with the Atlassian App ID and Publisher information.

  7. Click Close.

  8. Click Next.
