To verify that the Google Cloud Spanner instance is set up correctly, perform a test backup and restore.
Back Up the Instance

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The Databases page appears.

On the Instances tab, click the action button
for an instance, and then click Backup.The Backup options dialog box appears.

Select the backup level, and then click Submit.
Restore the Instance

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The Databases page appears.

On the Instances tab, click the action button
for an instance, and then click Restore.The Backup content page appears.

Select the instance to be restored, and then click Restore Instance.
The Restore options dialog box appears.

Enter the required information, and then click Submit.
