Creating a Custom Amazon Windows AMI for Database Application Migration

Create an Amazon Windows AMI so that you can migrate your SQL database to the cloud.

Procedure

1. Create a Windows EC2 instance using any public or private Windows AMI.

2. Install the MSSQL server.

3. Create an Amazon machine instance from the EC2 instance.

   Note

   Before you create an Amazon machine instance, turn off the Windows firewall on the Amazon EC2 Instance so that the installation operation is seamless.
