Installing Service Packs On the Standby CommServe Host and SQL Clients

Service packs or hot fix packs can be installed in both the production and standby CommServe hosts.

Before You Begin


  1. Install the service pack on the Production CommServe host. For more information on installing service packs on the production CommServe hots, see Installing a Service Pack on the Production CommServe During a Maintenance Failover.

  2. From the CommCell Browser, go to Client Computer Groups > CSLive Sync > CVLiveSync.

  3. Right-click then CVLiveSync client group and then click All Tasks > Add/Remove Software > Install Service Pack and Hotfixes.

  4. In the Install Service Pack and Hotfixes Options dialog box, Select the necessary option and then click OK.

  • An Install Updates job will be started. You can monitor the progress of the job from the Job Controller window.

  • Service pack will be installed on the following instances:

    • SQL Client on the production CommServe host

    • SQL Client on the standby CommServe host

    • CommServe client in the standby CommServe host. instance. (The service pack installation will automatically detect the necessary updates on the CommServe host.)
