Creating a New Client

Use this procedure to create a new client with the latest version of OnePass for Exchange Mailbox (Classic), and then upgrade an older client to the latest version of the Commvault software. You must deconfigure the Exchange Mailbox Archiver Agent on the older client first. In this case, you can continue to use the deconfigured Exchange Mailbox Archiver Agent on the older client for recovery operations only.

Note

If you want to continue to use the Exchange Mailbox Archiver Agent for archiving and recovery operations, you cannot upgrade the older client.

Procedure

  1. On the new client, install the Exchange package, and then add and configure the latest version of OnePass for Exchange Mailbox (Classic).

    1. Make sure that the correct version of the Web Server and the Web Console are installed in the environment.

    2. Install the Exchange package, and then add OnePass for Exchange Mailbox (Classic).

    3. Configure OnePass for Exchange Mailbox (Classic).

  2. Upgrade the older client.

    1. Deconfigure the Exchange Mailbox Archiver Agent.

    2. Upgrade the Commvault software on the client.
