Use the open replication for the NetApp storage array to replicate snapshots.
Before You Begin
-
Make sure that you have configured an array access node on the source array and that the array access node has access to both the source array and the target array. However, if you configured a Remote Snap MediaAgent on the target array, then access to the target array from the source array access node is not required.
-
Ensure that the relationships used by the Open Replication feature do not have any associated external snapmirror schedules.
-
If you are using NetApp Open Replication with SnapMirror Cloud, review the following requirements.
-
Tunneling must be enabled on the source storage virtual machine (SVM). For more information on how to enable tunneling see Tunneling the vServer through a Cluster Client.
-
Ensure that array access node runs Commvault Platform Release 2023E (11.32) or later.
-
Configuration Process
-
Do one of the following:
-
Use existing relationships.
-
For each volume that is going to be replicated, create one of the following relationships:
-
For vault/replica copy, create either a SnapVault relationship or a MirrorVault relationship.
-
For mirror copy, create either a SnapMirror relationship or a Version Flexible Mirror relationship.
For more information, see Creating Relationships for the NetApp Open Replication Feature.
-
-
For the NetApp SnapMirror Cloud Target copy, the relationships to object storage destinations are automatically created.
-
-
Configure the source array for replication, by adding the source array as an entry in the Arrays page. See Configuring the NetApp Array.
-
Associate the source array with an array access node. See Configuring Array Access Nodes for a Storage Array).
-
Configure the target for replication:
-
If you are using NetApp Open Replication, configure target array. For more information, see Configuring the NetApp Array. If the source array access nodes, do not also have access to the target array, then on the target array, select the Remote Snap MediaAgent (Remote Snap MA) option.
-
If you are using NetApp Open Replication with SnapMirror Cloud, configure the cloud target. For more information, see Configuring the NetApp Cloud Target.
-
-
Create a server plan with a snap primary copy. See Creating a Server Plan and a Primary Snap Copy.
-
Create a vault/replica copy or a mirror copy. See Creating a Vault/Replica or Mirror Copy for the NetApp Open Replication Feature.
-
Optional: Displaying SVM Names.
