Sign up through Google Cloud Marketplace

Subscribing through Google Cloud Marketplace links your Clumio subscription to your Google Cloud billing account, so it is managed alongside your other Google Cloud purchases. Your subscription starts with a free trial, which ends after 14 days or once your usage reaches 2,500 USD, whichever comes first. It then continues as a paid subscription automatically.

Your Google Cloud Marketplace subscription covers Google Cloud usage only. To protect AWS resources with Clumio, also subscribe through AWS Marketplace. Both subscriptions can be active on the same Clumio organization, and each cloud's usage is billed to its own marketplace. The Marketplace Connections page in the Clumio portal shows each subscription and its status. For more information, see Sign up through AWS Marketplace.

Subscribe and create your account

  1. Go to Clumio by Commvault: Data Protection and Resilience in Google Cloud Marketplace.

  2. Click Subscribe, and then complete the subscription with the Google Cloud billing account you want Clumio usage billed to. To talk to Clumio before you subscribe, click Contact Sales instead.

  3. When the subscription completes, click the button to sign up with Clumio.

A browser tab opens to portal.clumio.com/register.

    Note

    • Always set up your account from the sign-up button in Google Cloud Marketplace. That button links your Clumio account to your subscription, and Google does not activate the subscription until you finish signing up.

    • If you already have a Clumio account, click the same button, then sign in to your existing account instead of registering a new one. Sign in as a Super Admin. Clumio then asks whether to move your Google Cloud usage onto the new subscription.

  4. Complete the registration form. The fields and the region choice are the same on every sign-up path. For more information, see Create your account.

Subscribe from inside the portal

If you signed up directly with Clumio or started a free trial through AWS Marketplace, a Free Trial button appears in the upper-right area of the Clumio portal. Click it to open the Subscription required dialog, and then choose the option that matches the resources you want Clumio to protect:

  • Buy with AWS, if you have AWS resources to protect. It opens Clumio in AWS Marketplace, and your AWS usage is billed through your AWS account.

  • Buy with Google Cloud, if you have Google Cloud resources to protect. It opens Clumio in Google Cloud Marketplace, and your Google Cloud usage is billed through your Google Cloud billing account.

  • Contact support, to arrange a subscription directly with Clumio.

If you protect both AWS and Google Cloud resources, subscribe through both marketplaces. Each cloud's usage is billed to its own marketplace.

If your Clumio free trial has expired, the same dialog opens when you sign in, so you can still subscribe without contacting support.

Note

The Google Cloud Marketplace free trial is not a Clumio free trial, so the Free Trial button does not appear for it. That trial converts to a paid subscription on its own.

Cancel a subscription

Canceling a marketplace subscription affects only the cloud billed through that marketplace. If you cancel your Google Cloud Marketplace subscription while your AWS Marketplace subscription stays active, your AWS protection continues unchanged.

When you cancel your Google Cloud Marketplace subscription, Clumio turns off the parts of your backup policies that protect Google Cloud resources, so scheduled Google Cloud backups stop. On-demand backups and restores for Google Cloud are also blocked, and you cannot connect new projects. Billing for Google Cloud usage stops.

Your projects stay connected, and their existing backups are kept, for a 14-day grace period. The grace period keeps your backups, but you cannot restore from them until you re-subscribe. During the grace period, Clumio sends a daily alert counting down to the disconnect.

  • If you re-subscribe within the grace period, your projects stay connected and your backups are kept. On-demand backups and restores work again. Scheduled backups do not resume on their own. Turn Google Cloud protection back on in your backup policies to resume them.

  • If you do not re-subscribe, your projects may be disconnected from Clumio after the grace period ends. Disconnecting them also starts the deletion of their backups. If you subscribe again after that, you start fresh. Connect your projects again, and expect backups taken before the disconnect to be gone.

Your Clumio organization is deactivated only when no active subscription remains on any marketplace.
