With the Commvault software, there are many features that you can use with the NetApp storage array.
Procedure
-
Verify that your system meets systems requirements.
-
Decide which replication type that you are going to use:
Option
Steps
If you are going to replicate NetApp snapshots without using the OnCommand Unified Manager (OCUM) server
If you are going to use OnCommand Unified Manager (OCUM) or Active IQ Unified Manager
-
Decide which OCUM version that you are going to use, and then install it and configure it. See OnCommand Unified Manager.
-
If you need, change the protocol for connections to NetApp file server and OCUM server.
-
If you are going to use clustered Data ONTAP, see Creating Clustered Data ONTAP Peers.
-
If you want to use the SnapVault copy or the SnapMirror copy, then do the following:
-
Create a storage policy for the Snapvault copy or the SnapMirror copy. See Storage Policies for SnapVault or SnapMirror.
-
Create a snapshot copy for the SnapVault copy or the SnapMirror copy. See Creating a Snapshot Copy for SnapVault or SnapMirror.
-
-
Add NetApp storage array in Array Management. See Configuring the NetApp Array Using Array Management.
-
Optional: To customize the array to your environment, edit the snapshot configuration properties of NetApp.
