Preparing the Environment for Commvault Grid Deployment

Before deploying Commvault Grid, ensure that the network, hardware, software, and connectivity requirements are properly configured and validated.

Preparing the environment helps prevent deployment issues, reduces troubleshooting effort, and ensures that the Commvault Grid cluster can be successfully registered and integrated with the CommServe environment.

The following preparation tasks must be completed before deployment.

Software Readiness

Verify that the Commvault Grid software is ready for deployment.

DNS Readiness

Configure and validate DNS services that will be used by the Commvault Grid nodes.

Network and Switch Readiness

Configure the network infrastructure required for Commvault Grid communication and cluster operations.

Hardware Readiness

Validate that the Commvault Grid hardware meets the deployment requirements and is configured correctly.

CommServe Connectivity Readiness

Complete the following tasks only if you are deploying Commvault Grid into an existing CommServe environment.

Verify CommServe Compatibility

Ensure that the CommServe version is compatible with the Commvault Grid software version.

Configure Firewall Connectivity

If the CommServe server is located behind a firewall, configure the required connectivity before deployment.
