Enabling PostgreSQL Archive Log Deletion after Backup

Updated

By default, the log files in the wal directory that are backed up during a backup operation are deleted after the backup job. If you want, you can avoid this by deselecting the Archive Delete check box at the instance level.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

    The database Overview page appears.

  2. Go to the Instances tab.

  3. Click an instance for which you want to delete archive logs after a backup operation.

    The instance page appears.

  4. In the Overview tile, click Edit.

The Edit PostgreSQL instance dialog box appears.

  5. Select the Delete archive logs checkbox to enable deletion after backup. Deselect this checkbox to avoid log cleanup.

  6. Click Update.
