Modifying the Access Information

You can modify the access information of an already configured cloud storage device. This option is useful to perform the following operations:

  • Change the credentials

  • Change the Bucket

  • Modify the Storage Class

Notes

  • When you make changes, subsequent backups will be performed using the modified information. For example, if you change the Storage Class, only the new backups will be written in the new Storage Class.

  • To migrate existing data to a new storage class, follow the steps recommended by the specific storage vendor.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, navigate to Storage Resources | Libraries | <Cloud Storage Library>.

  2. Right-click the Cloud Storage mount path and then click Properties.

  3. Click the Sharing tab.

  4. Highlight the MediaAgent for which you wish to modify the access information from the Controllers list, and then click the Edit button.

The access information for Cloud Storage devices vary for each server type and may vary from the description provided below. For access information specific to each Cloud Storage device, See Add / Edit Cloud Storage (General)

  5. From the Credential list, select an appropriate credential to access the cloud storage library. To create a new credential, click the Create New button.

For instructions about creating a credential, see Adding a Credential to Credential Manager.

    Note

On a CommServe upgraded from previous Service Pack to Service Pack 17, if you attempt to modify a mount path on a cloud storage library, the Credential list appears along with the access information. If you select the credential account from the Credential list and save the mount path properties, the credential information of the storage account on the mount path properties will disappear.

  6. In the Service Host box, provide the host name of the cloud storage device.

  7. In the Bucket box, type the bucket name.

  8. From the Storage Class list, select the appropriate storage class for your account.

  9. Click OK.
