Restoring a Deleted Object for Salesforce

You can restore an object that was deleted from Salesforce.

Restore the Object Metadata

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Applications > Salesforce.

    The Salesforce page appears.

  2. In the row for the Salesforce app that contains the object, click the action button action_button, and then select Restore.

    The Select restore type page appears.

  3. Click Metadata restore.

    The Backup content page appears.

  4. Find the object:

    • From the Showing latest backup list, select Show backup for a date range, and then specify the dates.

    • In the Search for files box, enter the details, select the Show deleted files check box, and then click Search.

  5. Select the object, and then click Restore.

    The Restore options dialog box appears.

  6. Beside Restore target, select Salesforce.

  7. Under Destination details, from the Destination organization list, select the Salesforce organization.

  8. Click Submit restore.

Restore the Object Data

After the object metadata is restored successfully, restore the data at the object level or the record level.

  1. In the row for the Salesforce app that contains the object, click the action button action_button, and then select Restore.

  2. Perform the restore:

    1. Click Object level restore.

      The Backup content page appears.

    2. Go to the object that you restored metadata for.

    3. Select the object, and then click Restore.

      The Salesforce restore options page appears.

    4. Specify where to restore the object:

      • Salesforce: Restore the object to Salesforce.

      • File system: Restore the object to a file system.

      • Database: Restore the object to a database.

    5. Specify whether to include or exclude parent and child objects in the restore.

    6. Click Submit.

      A message appears saying the restore job is submitted successfully.

    Record

    1. Click Record level restore.

      The Backup content page appears.

    2. From the Object list, select the object.

    3. Select the records, and then click Restore.

      The Restore options page appears.

    4. Beside Restore target, select the target:

      • Salesforce: Restore records to Salesforce.

      • File System: Restore records to a file system.

    5. Click Submit.
