Recovery Options for All Selected Items (General)

Use this dialog box to control how the specified data is to be recovered. This dialog box is also used for selecting options related to scheduled or non-scheduled search and recovery operations. Note that all the options described in this help may not be available and only the options displayed in the dialog box are applicable to the component installed on the client.

To Mailbox

Specifies whether to recover data to a mailbox, and enables options applicable for this type of recovery.

Recover to Original Client

Specifies that data must be recovered to the original client computer.

Recover to Different Client

Specifies that data must be recovered to a different client computer. To change the destination computer, select one from the list.

Recover to Same Path

Specifies whether the recovery operation will recover data to the same path from which it was archived in the Destination Computer.

Recover to Different Path

Specifies whether the recovery operation will recover data to a different path from which it was archived. Use the corresponding space to enter the path on the destination computer to which the data will be recovered, or click Browse to specify the destination. If the specified path does not exist, it will be created during the recovery process.

When message exists

Unconditional Overwrite

Specifies whether the recovered data is unconditionally written to the specified location.

If cleared:

  • Files or directories whose names are the same as those in the recovery path and where the archived data is as old or older are not recovered.

  • Files or directories whose names are the same as those in the recovery path and where the archived data is newer are recovered.

  • Files or directories whose names are different from those in the recovery path are recovered.

Restore only if Target is a DataArchive Stub

Specifies whether a DataArchiver stub will be unconditionally overwritten during recovery.

Append

Specifies that all items selected for recovery will be added to the folder regardless of whether they currently exist or not. The Append option is selected by default.

Skip

Specifies that if an item is selected for recovery and that item already exists, it will not be recovered.

To PST File

Specifies whether to recover data to a PST file, and enables options applicable for this type of recovery.

  • Use this space to enter the name and path of the PST file to which the messages are to be recovered, or click the " ... " button to specify the destination. If the specified path does not exist, it will be created during the recover process.

  • ...

    Click to select a destination path for the PST file.

Limit PST size to (GB)

Specifies the size value, in case you want to restore a large data set to multiple PST files. The size limit cannot be greater than 45GB

PST Restore Options

Create a common PST file for all users.

Specifies the creation of a single PST file with a merged folder hierarchy for all users or a preserved folder hierarchy for each user.

Create a separate PST file for each user, each in its own folder name using

Specifies the creation of a separate PST file for each individual user. Select the appropriate folder naming convention from the corresponding list.

To Disk

Specifies that the name and path of the PST file exists on a disk.

Advanced

Click to select additional recovery options.

Save As Script

Click to open the Save As Script dialog, which allows you to save this operation and the selected options as a script file (in XML format). The script can later be executed from the Command Line Interface using qoperation execute command.

When you save an operation as a script, each option in the dialog will have a corresponding XML parameter in the script file. When executing the script, you can modify the value for any of these XML parameters as needed.
